Task 3: Illustrated Typography Poster (20%)

Week 7: Introduction & Briefing

For this task, it is a collaborated project between 2 modules, Illustration & Visual Narrative (IVN) and Digital Photography and Imaging (DPI). We were required to create a poster based on a quote of our choice. IVN focuses more on the typography of the poster, where DPI focuses on the graphics and image editing based on what we have learned in the module so far.

Week 9: Process

I had chose 2 fonts to use, Averia Libre and Funnel Display. I decided to use Funnel Display, which is structured font since my composition is mostly made up of organic shapes. This will balance out the overall look of the composition.

Title: The Place Time Stays

This poster represents the idea of making our mind a calm and inviting place. Inspired by the quote "You spend a lot of time in your head, make it a nice place to be," it combines dreamy visuals, soft colours, and small details to reflect the importance of peace and self-reflection. It highlights the connection between time and place which encourages us to create a safe and peaceful space within our thoughts.

This task is not as simple as I thought as I had to consider the requirements to meet that can meet the standards for both modules. Though, I had a great time creating this poster as we get to choose the artistic direction of it.
