Exercise 1: Sound Dubbing (15%)
For the first exercise, we were required to do audio dubbing on a short
clip from Everything Everywhere All At Once.
Note: dialogue and sound effects only
Process Work
In class, Mr Martin divided us into groups to create a spreadsheet to keep
track of dialogues and sound effects that are needed in the video clip. We
mainly used Pixabay and Youtube to source the sound effects.

Next, I imported the video clip into Adobe Premiere Pro. I added in the
sound effects first and proceed to add in the ambiance sounds. I also
adjusted the volume of the audios as I go.

Then, I imported the recorded dialogues into Premiere Pro. I adjusted My
voice for Waymond's character (Man / Husband) in the Effects > Pitch Shifter panel to give him a
lower voice.

Husband)
Meanwhile for Evelyn, I slightly lowered the pitch of her voice to make
it sound more like a middle-aged lady's voice since my the pitch of my
voice recording is quite high.

Cents: 2

Exercise 2: Sound Shaping (15%)
In the second exercise of this project, we had to record 10 seconds of
ourselves speaking our mother tongue and edit it based on the following
audio effects:
1. Voice of phone call.
2. Voice coming from inside of the closet.
3. Underground cave.
4. Alien / Orc voice

I imported the recorded audio into Adobe Audition and followed the
tutorial video provided by Mr. Martin.

Experience
This project was relatively straightforward and fun to work on. I got to familiarise myself with the softwares, which I hadn’t used before. Although it seemed complicated at first, I eventually got the hang of how everything works. Of course, there are still many feature I have not explored yet
Observation
I noticed how important sound design is in shaping the mood and atmosphere of a scene. Whether it’s sound effects, dubbing, or just the overall audio quality, even the smallest details can have a big impact on how the scene feels.
Findings
Through this project, I learned that sound editing is not just technical, it is also a creative process. The same voice clip can feel completely different depending on how it's edited. Small changes in pitch, reverb, or background sound can transform the entire context of a scene.
Thank You
